Conditions of Quotation and Sale

Important - Please read and understand these conditions

We want you to be completely satisfied with the parts you purchase from Shadow Parts NZ.

Therefore, if for any reason you are not entirely happy, please tell us how we have not met your expectations. In that way we can improve our service to you in the future.

Please make yourself familiar with the conditions outlined below. All of them are important, if we are to continue to do business with you, so please understand and accept these conditions of quotation and sale outlined below before you place your order.

Where prices are quoted for items available ex-stock here in Wellington, they include freight and delivery charges within New Zealand and are firm for thirty days from the date of quotation. They are also subject to GST at the rate of 12.5%, whether or not this is specified in the actual quotation.

Goods supplied from our stock to customers outside New Zealand will be subject to additional freight charges at cost. Any taxes, duties or other import charges payable in the destination country are payable by the customer.

Prices quoted for delivery from our overseas suppliers should be regarded as indicative only, as they may be subject to variations in freight rates and exchange rates that are outside our control. We will make every effort to keep to the prices quoted but we cannot guarantee to do so.

All parts sold are fully warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from the date of our original sales invoice. In most cases, except where otherwise specified on the relevant invoice, warranties will not cover labour, failure of a related component, failure resulting from faulty installation or misuse, nor will liability exceed the cost of the original component. In case of fault during the warranty period Shadow Parts NZ should be notified immediately and we will advise the best course of action. A purchase invoice number must accompany all claims.

In the event of a part being wrongly supplied, Shadow Parts NZ must be informed immediately. This must be accompanied by the purchase invoice number and must be done within 5 days of delivery of the goods. Should the incorrect identification of the item(s) not be the fault of Shadow Parts NZ, it may not be possible to return the goods for a credit because of the reasons outlined below. At the very least, a handling charge of 15% will be applied to cover administration costs involved in accepting a returned item. In the case of items ordered from the Rolls-Royce or Bentley factories on your behalf, we would like to point out that Rolls-Royce or Bentley will not accept in return any item which is correctly supplied according to the order. Because of the stringency of these conditions, we reserve the right to take payment for such goods in advance of a factory order to protect the company against cancellation at a later date.

Goods specially ordered by Shadow Parts NZ on behalf of the client may not be returned except if faulty or clearly incorrect according to your order. In the event that such parts are faulty or incorrect Shadow Parts NZ must be informed within 5 days of receipt of the goods as notification outside this period will affect the ability of the company to accept return of the goods.

Shadow Parts NZ cannot be held liable for damage, loss, or non-fulfilment of its obligations owing to acts of God, war, requisitioning government or parliamentary prohibitions or enactments of any kind, trade disputes, or incidents of any nature beyond the control of the company.

Prices are subject to GST at the current rate of 12.5% on top of the prices quoted, and this applies to all orders where the delivery address is within New Zealand.

Payment should accompany orders in full, prior to dispatch unless alternative arrangements for credit have been made.

Goods purchased on an exchange basis are subject to a surcharge that is refundable in full on receipt of the exchange unit, providing the exchange unit is in restorable condition. If not the returned surcharge will be adjusted accordingly. Return of exchange units or of any parts being returned to Shadow Parts NZ should be sent via an insured and traceable means of delivery. Shadow Parts NZ cannot be held liable for the non-delivery or damage of such items being returned to the company.

We, or our appointed carriers, insure all mail order parts. Claims of shortage or damage must be made within 3 days of receipt of order. Packaging must not be destroyed. Damaged goods cannot be replaced if signed for as "Received in Good Condition". Do not sign for goods that appear to be damaged. Every effort will be made to comply with an agreed delivery date.
